Lindsay found yoga while working as an Executive at Citigroup in 2010. During this time, while leading a large organization through uncertain times on the heels of an economic crisis, Lindsay became intimately aware of how stress and incessant busyness was impacting not only her life but nearly everyone around her. Propelled towards change, Lindsay took up the practice of Ashtanga yoga and soon thereafter became a certified instructor. Suffice-to-say, yoga has been a positive and powerful life-changing tool in Lindsay’s life that has given her the ability to relate to the mind with more wisdom and less reaction. This, coupled with Lindsay’s passion for physical fitness and music, has inspired her style of teaching to be one that empowers each student to invite the power and joy of yoga into each moment. Lindsay is elated to invite you on this remarkable retreat in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Together, with her two dear friends and instructors (Tracy and Elsie), you are guaranteed to leave this experience feeling deeply connected to nature and to your authentic self with memories that will bring you joy for a lifetime.
Tracy’s exposure to yoga began as a child. Her mother was a student and eventually a teacher of Iyengar. Committed to forging her own path, Tracy tried various forms of yoga before finding Ashtanga. This discovery was the beginning of a significant transformation which extended far beyond the familiar asanas. Over many years, Tracy expanded her practice to include creative based vinyasa. During the process of learning in 2010, the desire to share her experience was born and Tracy has been teaching ever since. Tracy’s classes are both calming and challenging at the same time. With her soothing voice, slower practice and hands-on adjustments you are sure to leave each practice feeling space in the body and the mind.
Elsie discovered yoga in 2010 when searching for tools to cope with stress and anxiety during law school. In 2013, after having settled into her career as an attorney, Elsie completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and soon realized that she felt called to share her passion for yoga with others. Elsie is the founder and CEO of Highland Yoga and the dream of Highland Yoga was born in 2015 when Elsie took the leap from practicing attorney to full-time yoga teacher and studio owner. Elsie believes there is no wasted life experience, and she infuses the discipline and passion that she developed through classical music studies and law school into her teaching and business.
